Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative

(HIHI)

The Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative (HIHI) was founded by the Family Service League and many local congregations to address the needs of homeless men in our community. It is a grass roots effort to ensure that the homeless of Huntington Township have a safe and warm place to sleep during the coldest winter months. There are over 20 churches and synagogues who have committed to provide one night of shelter per week for the months of November through March. On one Sunday of each of these months, Christ Church volunteers provide meals, transportation, toiletry supplies, clothing, and funds for supplies and/or unforeseen expenses. Contact Stephanie Augustine (stevieaa@aol.com) or the Church Office at 516-922-6377 if you would like to know more about this effort or would like to volunteer.
