Historically, Christ Church has been a supporter of the many outreach programs of the Youth and Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay-East Norwich (YFCA).  Therefore, when several rooms became available in our Parish Hall, we reached out to this amazing organization to see how we could fill a need in the local community.  The result was the Community Closet, offering clothing, shoes, household goods and baby items needed by individuals and families known to the YFCA.  The Community Closet was such a success that it soon outgrew the space we were able to provide

Our Vestry met with the Director of the YFCA to explore ways we could continue to support this much needed initiative away from our Parish Hall.  The result is Neighbor to Neighbor – Community Closet, a store-front location at 127 South Street, Oyster Bay. Families and individuals are invited to Neighbor to Neighbor, where they can avail themselves of any of the clothing, shoes, household goods, and baby items they need. There is no cost to the families - At Neighbor to Neighbor-Community Closet nothing is ever sold!
